Abstract

The right atrium (RA) has been described as being responsible for the maintenance of typical atrial flutter (AFL), atypical AFL, atrial fibrillation. Those patients were characterized by a widely distributed low-voltage zone (LVZ) in the RA with or without atrial dilatation. Those LVZs in the RA were responsible for the slow conduction and critical isthmus conduction of AFL. We reported a patient without a history of previous cardiac surgery or structural heart disease, who presented with typical and atypical AFL. Atypical AFL was eliminated by radiofrequency catheter ablation using 3-dimensional mapping system to define the LVZs.
